Is H-1B ATM for USCIS?

 

Yesterday, a follower asked me, Kumar, why do USCIS charges money from H-1Bs for 9/11 fire fighters?

In what way, H-1bs are responsible? Why do not they charge this from nations where the accused belongs?

Americans: So it looks like the $4000 fee is still in effect

As per 2017:But more or less it is the same for every year with more fees added to it.

1) H1B is non-immigration visa, its a temporary work permit to work in USA. It requires a company to sponsor visa for an individual. Total duration is 6 years. Initially up to 3 years is issued and later it could be extended for another 3 years.
